Rifftera's guitarist and vocalist Janne Hietala comments; "Carved in Skin is a new addition to our fast and heavy -selection. Once the song gets going, there's no stopping it! Evil riffs, sing-along chorus, rhythmic parts that make you go out of breath and a face melting guitar solo included.
Iron Maiden puritans may now come after us with pitchforks and torches, but we are happy with our version of Moonchild. It is different, but it still fits among our other songs surprisingly well. For an Iron Maiden song it anyway already had heavier and darker atmosphere - which is, along with the strong chorus, the reason why it was an easy pick to be our first cover song."
